Ingredients

  • 1 13.8-ounce can refrigerated classic pizza crust, such as Pillsbury™
  • 24 frozen cooked mini meatballs, thawed, cut in half
  • 1 14-ounce jar pizza sauce
  • 1 3½-ounce package pepperoni slices
  • ¾ Cup yellow or green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • ¾ Cup shredded pizza cheese (about 3 ounces)

Directions

Unroll the dough on a work surface. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out to a 20-by-15-inch rectangle. Cut into 12 5-inch squares. Wrap 1 dough square around each cup, and press to seal the edges. Repeat for the remaining pieces of dough. Trim any excess dough at the bottom of each cup.

Place on a large cookie sheet, open ends down. Bake on the lowest oven rack until light golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. When cool enough to touch, remove and discard the foil-covered paper cones.

Place half a meatball in the bottom of each cone. In a large bowl, mix ¾ cup of the pizza sauce, the pepperonis, bell pepper, and remaining meatball halves. Microwave uncovered on High until hot, 2 to 4 minutes. Spoon about ¼ cup of the mixture into each baked cone. Top each cone with about 1 tablespoon cheese. Serve hot with the remaining pizza sauce.

I love to eat food on a stick because it’s fun. I love to eat ice cream in a cone vs. a bowl because it’s more fun. So when I saw that I could turn my pizza in to a cone – I was all over that! I knew the kids would think it was a cool thing to do and was I ever right! Yay for Pizza Cones!What they loved most is loading whatever toppings they wanted into them. I just made the cones with Pillsbury pizza crust, laid out the ingredients, and we had ourselves a little pizza cone party. You will need to Pizzacraft Grilled Pizza Cone Set (6-Piece). The set makes two cones at a time. To make more than just two at a time, you will need to buy more sets. I only have one set, so I had to make a few rounds of cones.Party Favor Hint:

Pizza cone sets would make a festive and awesome party favor. Have everyone come over, make pizza cones, and then send a pizza cone set home with them.

To make the cones:

  • Roll out the Pillsbury pizza dough to 1/8 inch. (The dough doesn’t need to be rolled out too much. It’s almost there, as it is already thin crust.)
  • Roll it out so it’s large enough in surface area for the dough cutter to fit twice.
  • After cutting the Pillsbury pizza dough into the shape, remove the excess dough. (Tip: Use the extra dough to make bread sticks.)
  • Moisten the edges of the dough with water and fold the dough over in half, so the edges meet. Press down on the seam with your fingers and then run the crimper along the edge to thoroughly seal the seam.
  • Let the cones rest on the cutting board for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • After Pillsbury pizza dough has rested, carefully slip the dough onto the pizza cone form. Bake for 6-7 minutes or until the cone begins to brown.
  • Remove from oven let cool for 2 minutes and remove from form. Place cone into one of the pizza cone stands. Fill pizza cone with some of the toppings of your choice.
  • Fill cone with Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce.
  • Fill with cheese.
  • Load on more toppings and bake until the cheese is bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy!

Pizza Cones full Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated thin pizza crust
  • 1 can Pizza Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded pizza cheese (mozzarella and cheddar)
  • 1 cup vegetables of your choice (such as mushrooms, olives, green pepper, etc.)
  • 1 cup assorted meats meats (such as bacon, mini pepperoni, Canadian bacon, etc.)
  1. Roll out pizza dough to 1/8 inch. (The pizza dough doesn’t need to be rolled out too much, since it’s thin crust.)
  2. Roll it out so that it is large enough in surface area for the dough cutter to fit twice.
  3. After cutting the dough into shape, remove excess dough (Make bread sticks pieces out of leftover dough).
  4. Moisten the edges of the dough with water and fold the dough over in half, so the edges meet. Press down on the seam with your fingers and then run the crimper along the edge to thoroughly seal the seam.
  5. Let the cones rest on the cutting board for 15 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 400F.

Sausage Pizza Cones

1) Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Put an oven rack in the lowest position with a 6-inch clearance above. Cut six 6-inch squares of heavy-duty foil and six 1-inch squares of heavy-duty foil. Using the larger foil squares, wrap each sugar cone, molding to the shape of the cone to cover completely and tucking in excess. Spray the outside of the foil generously with cooking spray and set aside.

2) Brush the 6 tortillas on both sides using 2 tablespoons of oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of Parmesan over each side of each tortilla. Curl a tortilla into a cone shape with a closed point and a 3-inch-diameter top and secure the seam with a toothpick. Trim the top of the cone with scissors to make an even edge. Slip the sugar cone inside the tortilla cone to help hold its shape and put it on a large baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining tortillas, oil, cheese, and cones.

3) Bake for 5 minutes, then wrap the tip of each cone with the small foil squares to keep the tips from burning. Return to the oven until the cones are lightly browned and crisp and hold their shape, 5 to 7 minutes more. Remove the foil tips, and gently remove the foil cone inserts and toothpicks. Discard the toothpicks. Unwrap and reserve the sugar cones for another use. If the tortilla cones are still soft, return them, empty, to the oven, to cook until crisp, 1 to 2 minutes more.

4) Meanwhile make the sausage filling. Add 2 teaspoons oil to a medium pan over medium-high heat, then add the sausage and peppers. Cook, stirring often and breaking the meat apart, for 1 minute. Continue to cook undisturbed to allow the sausage to brown, 1 more minute. Scrape up the browned bits and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and browned, about 4 minutes more. Add the pizza sauce and cook until heated through, 1 minute. Set aside and keep warm until ready to use.
Cover the top of a deep pot with heavy-duty foil, wrapping it taut over the top. Using the tip of a knife, cut six 1-inch Xs in the foil spaced evenly apart. When the cones are cool enough to handle, place one cone in each of the slits.

5) Sprinkle a pinch of the mozzarella inside each cone. Add 1 tablespoon of sauce, followed by a pinch of cheese, another tablespoon sauce and another tablespoon of cheese in each cone. Repeat with the remaining cones. Bake the pizza cones on the lowest rack of the oven until the cheese is melted and the sauce is hot, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately with crushed red pepper, oregano and torn basil leaves.

Step 4: Make Cone Holders

In order to bake the pizza cones they will need to held upright during baking, for this we'll use a modified aluminum drink can.
Remove the tops from the cans with a sharp hobby knife or heavy-duty scissors, then rinse out the insides.
Vertical slits were cut into each can creating 'fingers', these fingers can easy be bent to accept cones of different sizes (as no two pizza cones are going to be exactly alike in shape).

Cut aluminum cans are very sharp, so be careful.

You’ve seen them all over Instagram but you’re not sure how to try them out for yourself? Treat the fam to a batch of these glorious pizza cones this weekend. You can thank us later.

MAKES 6 // COOKING TIME 55 min

INGREDIENTS
500 g ready-made bread dough
2 cups grated mozzarella
1 cup tomato purée
Salt and pepper
200 g chorizo or pepperoni, sliced
2 tbsp chopped origanum

METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a baking tray.
2. To make cone moulds, cut 6 sheets of cardboard about 15 cm long and roll into cone shapes. Wrap them in heavy foil and grease lightly.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick. Using a cone mould as a guide, cut out 3 circles 30 cm in diameter. Cut each circle in ½. Carefully wrap dough around the cone moulds, pressing the edges tightly closed. Arrange on the baking tray, open-sides- down, and bake for 15 minutes.
4. Increase oven to 200°C.
5. Allow the cones to cool, then remove from the moulds.
6. Place the cones right-side-up in ovenproof cups tall enough to keep them upright. Place a bit of mozzarella at the bottom of each cone, then a spoonful of tomato purée. Season. Fill with chorizo or pepperoni. Top with a sprinkle of mozzarella and origanum.
7. Bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted.


How to Make Pizza Cones

To make them, start by creating the cones using paper and foil. Follow the steps below and in the video.

Then lay the pizza dough flat and cut into strips. Wrap the strips around the foil cone, and then lay on a baking sheet to bake in the oven until golden. Then spoon mac and cheese and crumbled bacon into the cone.

For the mac and cheese, you can use storebought or make homemade. Of course it’s a great way to use up leftover mac and cheese.


Method

  • In a bowl add the water, the yeast, 1 tablespoon of the flour, and whisk. Set aside for 10-15 minutes until the yeast is activated.
  • In a mixer’s bowl add the rest of the flour, salt, 3 tablespoons olive oil, the yeast mixture, and beat with the hook attachment at high speed, for 5-6 minutes, until there is an elastic dough.
  • Transfer the dough to a bowl that is greased with 1 tablespoon olive oil and cover with plastic wrap. Set aside for about 1 hour to double in volume.
  • Preheat the oven to 230 ο C (445 ο F) set to fan.
  • Dust your working surface with maize flour, place the dough on it, and roll it out into a 60x40 cm sheet, using a rolling pin.
  • Cut the dough into strips, so that you get 6 strips, 60 cm each.
  • Take six sheets of aluminum foil and place a carton sheet at the center of each one. Fold them so that you get six cones, 10 cm in height and 5-6 cm in diameter. Wrap one dough strip around each cone, so to shape the dough.
  • Transfer to a baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Fill any metal cups with legumes or use special cone molds to place the cones. You can use the legumes that you have as pie weights.
  • Divide half of the ketchup, half of the cheeses, and the turkey cut into cubes among each cone, and cover with the remaining ketchup and cheeses.
  • Bake for 15 more minutes.
  • Serve with rocket leaves and cherry tomatoes.


Ingredients:

  1. Microwave the tortilla packets for thirty seconds before opening them up gently
  2. Add some cheese to the base. Separately mix the pizza sauce and any other ingredients you want to add
  3. Make little nests for the tortilla pockets using foil. Use a ramekin to keep each pizza cone from sliding flat
  4. Spoon in the filling mixture into the pockets, adding an equal amount in each one
  5. Place in oven for 8-10 minutes and cook at 200C.

The mum wrote: ‘I bided my time, waiting for the pockets to go on special and that time came today,

‘They are very hot. Proceed with caution or will you will be speaking like a dragon.’

The mum added that she would change the method slightly next time.

‘I would cook it on a lower heat until the cheese melted inside, then a sprinkle some on top and turn the temperature up to them brown off,’ she said.

‘And maybe spray the tops with oil so they don’t burn. But otherwise a total success.’
