A cake for poppy lovers and more.

For dough:

  • 350 gr flour
  • 3 yolks
  • 150 gr sugar
  • 200 g margarine
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • milk (as far as the dough is concerned)

Pt cream:

  • 200 gr mac
  • 200 gr sugar
  • 150 gr flour
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 sachet of baking powder

Servings: 1

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Poppy cake:

For dough:

-From all the ingredients, knead a suitable dough, from which 2 sheets are spread (picture 1)

Pt cream:

grind the poppy (picture 2)
-maculum is mixed with sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, milk (picture 3)
- beat the egg whites and add to the cream, stirring gently from the bottom up (picture 4)
- put a sheet in a greased tray or with baking paper and pour the cream (picture 5)
- put in the oven until lightly browned on top (picture 6)
- sprinkle powdered sugar on top (picture 7)


Cake with poppy seeds and chocolate

ingredients
For the countertop:
& # 8211 3 eggs
& # 8211 150 gr sugar
& # 8211 150 gr flour
& # 8211 2 tablespoons water
& # 8211 100 ml oil
& # 8211 1 sugar vanilla
& # 8211 1 teaspoon baking powder
& # 8211 2 tablespoons mac
For the cream
& # 8211 150 gr unsweetened liquid cream
& # 8211 100 gr dark chocolate min 55% cocoa
& # 8211 50 gr milk chocolate
& # 8211 140 gr sugar
& # 8211 50 gr butter
For syrup: a glass of peach juice from the compote
For decoration:50 gr white chocolate

Beat whole eggs foam using the mixer. Add sugar and vanilla sugar and mix for another 4-5 minutes.
Add water, oil and then the 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds, using a spatula.

At the end, gradually add the flour mixed with baking powder, mixing gently.

Pour into a tray lined with baking paper or Al foil. and put in the preheated oven at 175 degrees for 30-35 min.
(if you want a higher countertop you can double the quantities, or use a smaller tray, I preferred a thinner countertop)

In the meantime, we start with the cream. Put the liquid cream mixed with sugar on the fire and let it boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring. Remove from the heat and gradually add the finely chopped chocolate, stirring until everything melts. At the end we add the butter cut into pieces, also stirring until it melts.

Refrigerate for about an hour, stirring occasionally.

We cool the cooled top with peach juice and leave it to cool for 20-30 minutes.
Then pour the cream over the counter, level and garnish with white chocolate.
Leave in the fridge for 2-3 hours or even overnight. (it can be served immediately but for a perfect taste it is preferable to let the chocolate harden and the top to draw its syrup well)

We serve the next morning with an aromatic coffee.

Top: Beat the egg whites hard with a pinch of salt, then gradually add sugar, poppy seeds, coconut and flour, stirring lightly with a spoon. Pour into the tray lined with oil and flour and then leave in the oven until baked.

Cream: The milk is mixed with the yolks, sugar and pudding powder. Boil over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from the heat and then incorporate the margarine.

After both the cream and the top have cooled, spread the cream evenly on the top, then place the biscuits next to each other.

It's the first time I make the Sah cake with two-tone biscuits and a poppy top and I was delighted.

I was a little afraid that my boys wouldn't like the poppy, but they didn't raise such a problem either.
It turned out very good, but a little, because I made it in a small 22/36 cm tray.
The cake in its original version is made with Picnic biscuits, but I didn't find it, so I used Petit Beure combined.

Fasting cake with poppy seeds

During fasting over the year we need to pay more attention to the food we eat. It is more convenient to buy them all in stores. But commercial products are full of harmful additives.

Fasting food should be as healthy and natural as possible. The body is deprived of animal protein, so fasting foods must make up for this lack through their nutrients.

When fasting it is good to eat more fruits and vegetables.

As for desserts, there are various fasting cakes that can be both tasty and healthy.

A good example is fasting cake with poppy seeds which we present below.

It is made from the usual ingredients, which are simply mixed in a single bowl.

It does not contain dairy or eggs. However, the recipe is very successful. It is worth trying it on the first special occasion that arises in the family.


Lent cake with poppy seeds - recipe

Dough ingredient

  • 1 glass of flour
  • 1 glass of semolina
  • ½ glass of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons candied fruit
  • 1 orange
  • 75 g of poppy seeds
  • 100 ml of refined oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar

Syrup Ingredients (Optional)

Method of preparation

Start by making the countertop. You need to hydrate the poppy first. Put the poppy seeds in a bowl. Pour hot water over them and let them soak for 10 minutes.

Then drain the water and add the sugar. Mix and mash the seeds with a mortar. This will help release their flavor.

Squeeze the orange juice. You need 250 ml of orange juice.

If the juice contains pieces of pulp, strain it to keep only the liquid clear.

Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, semolina, baking soda, starch, vanilla sugar and candied fruit.

Then add the poppy composition with sugar and mix.

Then add the liquid ingredients: oil and orange juice. Mix the dough with a wooden spoon. The composition should be only slightly more liquid than the blackberry composition.

Prepare a round tray or a round shape with a diameter of 20 cm. It could be a culinary ring. But it can also be a small square or rectangular tray.

Lay baking paper and grease the walls with oil. Then wallpaper them with a little semolina.

Pour the composition into the pan. Level to the surface. Beat the table tray to set the dough.

Turn the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Do not put the tray in the oven yet. Let the countertop sit for 10 minutes.

Bake the poppy and orange cake for 50 minutes. For safety, do the toothpick test before removing the cake.

It should not be overcooked as it may dry out.

The syrup is very simple. Although it is optional, it gives the cake a special look and taste. Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until a fine paste results.

Another syrup suitable for this cake is white syrup, obtained as follows: mix the juice of half an orange with 25 g of sugar and 40 ml of water in a kettle. Bring to the boil and then turn off the heat.

The syrup must cool before applying it to the cake. You can use a silicone brush for this purpose.

After it has cooled, take the cake out of the pan and leave it to cool completely.

Only then does it cut. If you used a round shape, you can cut it like a cake.

Method of preparation:

Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with 100g of sugar and then add the poppy seeds, coconut and 2 tablespoons of flour, stirring gently, from bottom to top. Pour the composition into a greased tray lined with baking paper. Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees in the preheated oven.

For the cream
Mix the yolks in a bain-marie with 100 g of sugar, 5 tablespoons of flour, 200 ml of milk and vanilla sugar, stirring constantly until the cream thickens and leave it to cool. After it has cooled, we incorporate the cream spoon by spoon in 200 grams of butter that we rubbed the foam.
For the glaze:
Boil 60 grams of sugar with 30 grams of cocoa, 3 tablespoons water and 25 grams of butter until smooth.
Cut the top in half and then spread half of the cream on a top, overlap the second top over which we put the rest of the cream and level nicely over which we pour the gas and garnish with coconut.
